What data we collect
None. Not about you, not about how you use the app. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no analytics.
This is not a promise you have to take on trust: Oleada does not request the internet permission. You can check it yourself in the app listing before installing. Without that permission the operating system stops the app from sending anything anywhere, whatever we do.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you log stays in your phone's private storage, which only Oleada can reach: the start and end time of each contraction, the intensity you give it, any notes you write, your maternity unit's phone number if you save it, your baby's name if you type it, and your settings. None of that travels to any server, ours or anyone else's.
This is health data and we treat it as such: it never leaves the device and we cannot see it at any point.
The Android backup
If you have Android backup switched on, the system may include Oleada's data in the encrypted backup of your Google account, as it does for other apps. That backup is managed by Google, controlled by you from your phone settings, and we have no access to it. You can switch it off under Settings, System, Backup.
There is one exception, and it is deliberate: your maternity unit's phone number is left out of that backup and out of the transfer to a new phone. It is the only personal detail the app stores, and we would rather it never left your phone at all, not even inside an encrypted backup of your own. If you change phones you will have to type it again: ten seconds, and in exchange that number travels nowhere.
Permissions the app uses, and what for
Notifications: only if you turn on the start and stop button in the notification shade. It lets you log a contraction without unlocking the phone. If you do not turn it on, it is never requested.
Vibration: the feedback when you press the big button, so you can feel that the tap registered.
Internet access: NOT requested. That is why this policy is so short.
Location, contacts, phone, microphone, camera and storage are not requested.
Phone calls
The buttons to call emergency services or your maternity unit open your phone's dialler with the number filled in. Oleada never places a call by itself and does not need call permission: you are always the one who presses the green button.
To Google Play, that gesture counts as “sharing” a phone number: the app hands it to the dialler, which is another app on your own phone. That is why Oleada’s Data safety section declares the phone number as shared data while also saying that no data is collected. Both are true: the number never travels to any server, ours or anyone else’s, because the app has no internet access. It only goes from Oleada to your dialler, on your phone, and only when you press call.
In-app purchases
There are none. Oleada sells nothing inside the app: no subscriptions, no one-time purchases, no locked features. No payment details are ever requested.
No ads and no analytics
Oleada shows no ads, integrates no ad network and includes no analytics tooling. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making about you.
How to delete your data
From the app itself you can delete any contraction or end a session. To wipe everything at once, uninstall Oleada or go to Settings, Apps, Oleada, Storage and tap Clear data. Since nothing leaves your phone, that removes every last piece of data.
Children
Oleada is not aimed at children and collects no data from anyone, whatever their age.
Your rights
The General Data Protection Regulation gives you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. With Oleada they are satisfied by design: since we hold no data about you, there is nothing to access and nothing we could rectify or erase on your behalf. If you would like to write to us anyway, our address is below.
Medical notice
Oleada is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Rules such as 5-1-1 are widely used general guidance. Always consult your midwife, doctor or maternity unit, and call if in doubt.
Changes to this policy
If it ever changes, the new version will be published here with its date. If a change affected personal data, you would be told inside the app itself.
